Video of Putin’s Complete Speech on Crimea

Video of Russia’s president, Vladimir V. Putin, speaking in the Kremlin on Tuesday about the annexation of Crimea.

As my colleagues Steven Lee Myers, Ellen Barry and Alan Cowell report from Moscow, President Vladimir V. Putin reclaimed Crimea and the port city of Sevastopol as a part of Russia on Tuesday, in “an emotional address before the country’s political elite in the Grand Kremlin Palace.”

Mr. Putin’s complete address and a subsequent signing ceremony were broadcast with simultaneous English translation by RT, the Kremlin-funded network formerly known as Russia Today.

The Kremlin also posted video of Mr. Putin addressing a triumphal rally in Red Square later. “After a long, hard and exhaustive journey at sea, Crimea and Sevastopol are returning to their home harbor, to the native shores, to the home port, to Russia!” Mr. Putin said, before joining a military chorus in singing the national anthem.

The Stalinist writer Aleksandr A. Prokhanov, who has welcomed new tensions with the United States, followed Mr. Putin on stage in Red Square and made provocative remarks about Russia’s perceived enemies, the Ukrainian nationalists known as the Right Sector, and America’s president.
